For a lot of millennials, alcohol has always just been part of the culture. Celebrations, weddings, girls’ nights, networking events — even wellness events somehow end with cocktails. It’s so normalized that most people don’t even think twice about it.
But for Long Island mom of two Nicole, there came a point where she started to question it all.

After experiencing postpartum anxiety and depression following the birth of her daughter, Nicole found herself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and honestly confused by what she was going through. Like many mothers, she struggled with the guilt of feeling like she should be grateful and happy while silently battling emotions she didn’t fully understand.
As she started focusing more on her mental and physical wellness, she began noticing how alcohol affected not just her body, but also her mindset, anxiety, hormones, and overall balance. What began as a personal wellness choice slowly turned into something much deeper.
Now 2.5 years alcohol-free, Nicole has created a space for more open and honest conversations around mindful drinking through her Instagram platform, Sip Societe. Her mission isn’t about judgment or telling people what they should do — it’s about creating a more inclusive wellness culture where people don’t feel pressured to drink in order to feel connected.
That same mission inspired her upcoming Pilates event featuring all zero-proof options. After attending countless events where alcohol always seemed to take center stage, Nicole wanted to create something different — a space where people could show up, connect, recharge, and feel included without the expectation of drinking.
In a culture that often glorifies burnout and overconsumption, Nicole’s story is a reminder that wellness can look different for everyone — and sometimes the most powerful changes start with simply listening to yourself.
